Achieve Now is a Philadelphia-based literacy nonprofit. We see literacy as a social justice issue and are dedicated to providing Philadelphia schoolchildren with high-quality, culturally competent literacy instruction.
Join us for an evening of community, connection, and fun at the Achieve Now Community Mixer on Wednesday, October 21st!
Come mix and mingle with friends, neighbors, supporters, and members of the Achieve Now community while learning more about our work helping Philadelphia children become strong, confident readers. You’ll also hear about what we have planned for the year ahead and the many ways you can be part of Achieve Now’s growing community.
Throughout the evening, guests can bid in our silent auction, featuring baskets, experiences, and other items generously donated by our community. Every ticket and winning bid helps support Achieve Now’s literacy programs and the students we serve.
Admission is $25, and children are welcome for free; so bring your family and friends! Whether you’ve supported Achieve Now for years or are just getting to know us, we’d love to have you join us for a relaxed evening of good company, meaningful connection, and support for brighter futures through literacy.

The challenge we face
In 2024, 65.4% of School District of Philadelphia third graders scored below proficient in reading. Three quarters of struggling readers will have difficulty in later grades and are five times more likely to drop out of high school. We are working to change that.
Transforming lives through literacy
Our students grow to be strong, confident readers through our holistic approach where Achieve Now literacy instructors or trained adult volunteer coaches use our research-based phonics curriculum to meet students‘ needs in an affirming and empowering environment.
